Sightseeing tour

The first tour was organized by the Department of Business Informatics to the main attractions of Moscow. We visited Vorobyevy Gory, enjoyed the panorama of Moscow from the most popular observation point near Moscow State University, drove along Victory Park and Kutuzovsky Prospekt, visited Christ the Savior Cathedral, saw the Red Square and spent our free time in GUM.

Vorobyevy Gory

Vorobyevy Gory is a park zone on the right bank of the Moskva River and one of Russians’ favorite places for rest. Vorobyevy Gory is one of seven hills of Moscow. The largest observation deck of the capital is located here and it offers a delightful view of the surroundings.

The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior was built as a testimonial monument expressing gratitude to divine help to Russia in the Patriotic War of 1812 and also as a historical monument. That is why on all four walls of the Cathedral there are images depicting events of the war.

Red Square

Red Square has always been a crowded place. In the 16th century it was called Trinity named after the church of St. Trinity, standing on the site of St. Basil’s Cathedral. In the Middle Ages, fires often flared here so the square had another name – “Fire”. From the middle of the 17th century, they began to call it “Red”, which in Old Russian language meant “beautiful”.

GUM

GUM is not just a store where you can buy almost everything, but also a whole shopping district with a large number of popular stores and boutiques. This is a monument of architecture and a comfortable recreation area with restaurants and cafes. It is also an art gallery and a venue for cultural events. It is considered an important part of Russian history. It is a symbol of Moscow and the closest place to Kremlin.
